Amy D. Zornow Physical Therapist OwnerAmy D. Zornow, Physical Therapist, Owner

Amy has been a Physical Therapist since 1991. She received her Bachelor of Science, in Physical Therapy, from the Chicago Medical School. She is originally from Minnesota. She enjoys being a physical therapist a great deal. Amy is the mother of four--triplets and a 'little guy.' As the owner of 1st Choice, she treats patients at both current locations and is active in the growth and deveolpment of her business. She is a hands-on administrator and directs a great TEAM. Amy works well with all ages of patients. Her extensive continued education has included, but is not limited to, spine, shoulder, knee, core stabilization and pregnancy and exercise.

Amy is an outgoing, caring individual whose goal is to promote patient independence and offer quality care while reducing pain and increasing function. Amy believes the key to success for 1st Choice has been to provide the highest quality of care by hiring friendly experienced and talented therapists. Every therapist on staff at 1st Choice has more than 10 years experience and consistently receives very high marks on patient satisfaction surveys. The greatest compliment a patient can give is to refer other patients to 1st Choice. In the past two years 1st Choice has nearly quadrupled in size. Much of this growth is the result of highly satisfied patients and from physicians referring new patients.

Sue Physical TherapistSue, Physical Therapist

Sue received her physical therapy training at the University of Illinois, in 1994. Her clinical background is broad, treating both orthopedic and neurological conditions, especially in the geriatric population. Sue has extensive post-graduate coursework in Spine Pathology and Vestibular Dysfunction (dizziness and balance disturbances). Additionally, Sue is a Certified Ergonomic Assesment Specialist and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Instructor. Sue is very focused on the patient and their progress. She has great compassion and a depth of knowledge for treatment. In addition to working full time, Sue is also pursuing her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.

Jodi Physical TherapistJodi, Physical Therapist

Jodi is a graduate from Northern Illinois University and has been a physical therapist since 1991. Jodi has extensive experience in all areas of Physical Therapy and has a special certification from the McKenzie Institute for diagnosis & treatment of the spine. Jodi is one of only a few Physical Therapists in the area who offers treatment specifically geared towards women's health. Since 2001 Jodi has helped improve the lives of hundreds of women suffering from pre/postnatal conditions, pelvic pain & incontinence. She is caring and outgoing and fun.

NicoleSelena, Physical Therapist

Selena has been a Physical Therapist since 1988. She received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University. She is originally from Iowa and is a mother of four. Selena works part time at the Huntley location. Her continuing education has included courses on the spine, shoulder, knee, pediatric sensory integration, McKenzie and exercise. She enjoy's the challenge of rehab and loves to work with people.

Denise, Physical Therapist

Denise received her Bachelor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana. She began her physical therapy career at an in-patient neurologic rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles, California. In 1990, she earned a certification in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy at Kaiser Permanente, in California. This training emphasized manual (hands-on) mobilization of the spine and extremities. Denise's long and storied career has encompassed in and out-patient orthopedic, neurologic and geriatric rehabilitation. She has taken continuing education in many areas of orthopedics including: spinal stabilization, medical exercise training, muscle energy technique, soft tissue mobilization Women's Health. She has worked in management just long enough to remember how much she loves patient care! She is a mother of two 'pre-teens.' Denise believes her varied experiences have strengthened her ability to see the 'whole picture.' She believes patient education is key to maintaining long-term success and loves patient who ask questions.

Teresa Physical Therapist AssistantTeresa, Physical Therapist Assistant

Teresa graduated from Oakton Community College in 1985 with an Associates degree in Applied Science. She has 17 years work experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant. She has worked significantly with geriatric rehabilitation patients as well as orthopedic & neurological diagnosis prior to treating in the outpatient rehabilitation setting. Teresa believes that it is through knowledge that we create change, so she enjoys continuing her education and educating her patients which helps them achieve their maximum functional level.

Teresa is a mother to three teenagers and in her spare time enjoys reading, baking and volunteering at church

Denise Physical TherapistDenise, Physical Therapist Assistant

Denise graduated from Northern Illinois University with a B.S. in Geological Sciences/Hydrogeology and began her professional career as a hazardous waste consultant. She later continued her education at Oakton Community College earning an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences in 1997. Denise has been a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant for more than 10 years. She has worked in the acute and outpatient rehabilitation settings treating patients with orthopedic, sports & neurological diagnoses. She is also an IDEA certified aerobics instructor.

Denise has three adorable children who are busy with dance, baseball and soccer. She is a delightful person and a skilled clinician. Her goals are to work hard with her patients while making treatment fun!

JenniferJennifer, Physical Therapist Technician

Jennifer is a Physical Therapy Technician at the Huntley location. She is a student at the University of Illinois and has just completed a twelve week internship under the direction of Amy D. Zornow, P.T. Jennifer works at 1st Choice throughout the year during her school breaks. She is pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and is gaining much experience working at 1st Choice. Jennifer is a Certified Personal Trainer, former competitive cheerleader and gymnast, and an avid Illini fan. She takes pleasure in helping the therapist and patients at 1st Choice, and is looking forward to becoming a Physical Therapist.

Frankie Office ManagerFrankie, Office Manager

Frankie was a patient of 1st Choice and liked the company so much she decided to join the 1st Choice family. She has 15 years experience in customer service. Frankie lives in Marengo with her husband and two lovely daughters. She enjoys gardening and spending time with her family.

Spike, Public Relations Coordinator

My name is E. Bailey Halsall -- better known as 'Spike.' I have been married to my husband Robert for over 37 years. We have 3 children (Chris, Jamie, and Kerry) and 6 grandchildren. My job title is Public Relations Coordinator, and I love my job! My passions are: baking/cooking, antiques, scrap booking, softball/baseball with the kids, aquatics classes and TRAVELING! My goal is to see all 50 states. To date, I have seen 24!

Kim, Front Desk Coordinator Algonquin

Kim completed the Medical Assistant Program at Harper Community College and graduated with an Associates degree in Applied Science. She is a mother of three and has lived in the Algonquin area for over 10 years.

Heather, Front Desk Coordinator Huntley

Heather is a dedicated wife ad mother of four; three boys and a baby girl. When she is not taking care of her children she is volunteering at the church. She loves spending time with her family, baking and doing crafts. She hates to cook so it's a good ting that cooking is her husband's passion.
